Who we are
Abi Aspen Glencross
Co-Founder & Head of Systems
Abi Aspen brings deep, interdisciplinary experience at the intersection of food science, agriculture and sustainable systems.
With a background in cellular agriculture (including growing muscle tissue in vitro) she moved from the lab into the field, working hands-on with crops, heritage grains and regenerative farming practices. Abi Aspen has co-founded ventures such as FoodSquared focused on plant-based innovation and The Sustainable Food Story, a platform for telling grounded stories about food, farming and ecological solutions.
She has also worked across food technology and farming roles, helping bridge the gap between biotech thinking and real-world agricultural practice. Her work centres on inspiring hope and collaboration in food systems transformation and making complex technical ideas more accessible to the public.
Glen Burrows
Co-Founder Creative Director / Marketing
Glen is a creative and strategist with deep roots in regenerative food culture and systems thinking.
He has led messaging and positioning in complex ecological and agricultural spaces, helping field-forward ideas translate into impactful products and narratives instigating hard hitting viral campiagns.
Glen’s work spans brand messaging, creative direction, and building frameworks that connect ecological outcomes with real-world solutions.
At fieldboost⁺, he drives the vision of using food differently making nutrition, biodiversity and waste reduction functionally part of how meals are cooked and grown, not just talked about.
How fieldboost⁺ was born…
Glen and Abi first worked together while Abi was at Duchess Grains and Glen was working with The Ethical Butcher, trying to solve a very practical problem: how to close nutritional loops in farming systems. One project involved finding a use for cold-pressed rapeseed meal, which is a by-product of oil production, by routing it into pasture-raised chicken systems, improving omega-3 content while returning fertility to the land.
After that collaboration, they stayed in touch and discovered a shared life outside food systems too, both are committed rock climbers, travelling and climbing together over the years, with a long-standing intention to one day work together again.
Following Glen’s work at New Foundation Farms and Abi’s experience farming at Duchess, both became acutely aware of how difficult it is to stack enterprises on farms without viable routes to market. fieldboost⁺ emerged directly from that shared insight, combining their complementary skills, lived experience, and a common belief that food systems should be circular, biodiverse, and practical to operate in the real world.
